Front Plate
 

I am moving from NC to VA, which means i now need a front plate. how is everyone who has one attaching the plate to the bumper, just screwing it into the plastic, or is there a mounting bracket, or frame?
Also while I am waiting for my personalized plate

I have a paper plate that I need to mount to the front. I'm not sure if its going to hold well with just screws. At some point I will be getting a new bumper so I am not really worried about the drilling of the stock bumper but just looking for options.

I bought a kit from Advance Auto.
I drilled the holes, pushed in the inserts, and screwed the plate on. The insert expands as the screw goes in, and grabs the plastic from behind.

Look at the interior section at your local auto parts store. Get a "christmas tree" push fastener that fills the holes and looks decent on the end.


I have a NY front plate and my stock bumper had 4 little "nubs" that lined up with the holes in the plate. The dealer drilled 4 small holes in these spots and then used those large self tapping license plate screws. It's on there good.

mine has 2 of said nubs, and they are at the bottom of the bumper, i didn't think it would be a good idea to have the plate hanging off the bottom of the bumper, espically the paper one. I will visit Advance tomorrow.

Use your existing rear plate as a template. Put the nibs in the bottom two holes in the plate. Drill pilot holes for the upper fasteners using the upper holes in the plate as locator guides.

My stock bumper had a front plate attached just thread the screws into those little indents in the bumper the screws go in the bottom holes of the plate so it doesn't hang below the bumper but covers the center instead:thumbsup:
