i leave mine on when im not off road, when it is on it does serve its purpose as an air dam and i think my mpg are probably better. also when the air dam is on my hood does not lift up on the highway. when i go off road i take it off

yeah i was just reading about the hood lift..some people say it happens, other people say it didnt matter at all..i rarely ever go on the highway, the highest speed i usually go is 40 so maybe i'd be alright.

Didn't notice any loss in mpg or hood lift with mine off. I drive on the highway
2-3 times a week at 70+ mph.

Can't say anything about the hood lift as we never had it with the airdam on or off. After installing the AEV front bumper it no longer fit, so I left it off. As for the MPG, I havn't really seen any change with it off. I will say there's much more dirt mud and debris on the underside and sides of the engine with it off.
Please don't hit me with the WTF dude, I'ts a Jeep
It's the wifes Jeep and she likes it clean

If it helps with gas mileage, it's very subtle. So subtle that anything short of a strictly controlled, lab test would not reveal the truth. As for hood dance: It does not help one least little bit. My hood was all over the place on a 6K trip, mostly on two lane highways in the windy west. And I had the air dam during the entire trip. If you want to stop hood dance, there are now a number of options that really work: DayStar, Mopar, remove the spring, zip-ties. Or, if you're one of the lucky ones, the recall. I zip-tied mine over a year ago and have been quite please with zero--as in nada, zilch, no--hood dance.
