Angry frustrated... need to vent.

I just bought my 08 wrangler used with 30k on it. All I want to do is enjoy it but it hasn't been easy sailing so far.

- First thing I noticed was the squeaky cricket sound - throw out bearing needs to be replaced.
- Then after 3 weeks of owning it I noticed my clutch pops out of first gear sometimes...
- Then I decided I wanted to change the differential fluid myself. Went under the car.. there's oily discoloration on both of the axles.. looks like they both have a slight leak.

So with all that said I brought it into the dealer to get EVERYTHING checked out.
- They replaced the entire clutch assembly and told me that it's normal for slight leaks in the differentials to occur (really??)

Anyway - picked up the jeep yesterday. Drove to work today, and the THROW OUT BEARING SOUND IS BACK... and on my ride back the CLUTCH POPPED OUT OF FIRST AGAIN.

Now i'm straight up paranoid. Every weird noise I hear I think my car is falling apart. I'm panicking. Did I buy a lemon?? Am I really this unlucky??

This is my first jeep and aside from the problems I love everything about it.

I bought this car to enjoy it.. not to get stressed out.

There are threads on this forum for each symptom you describe. Do a search and some reading. You will learn a lot, and even if you don't find a cure, you can approach the dealer, perhaps with more knowledge than they have.

Thanks. I've read most of the threads, at least one of them wad started by me I think. From what i've read there's no fix for the popping out of gear issue and most of the people that have the throw out bearing issue have gotten the piece replaced only to have the sound come back soon after...

try to swap out the diff fluid...while your at it you might want to add riddlers or something. When you put it back together use lube lockers rather than RTV...from what im told it is a better seal, the only reason I didnt use it is because they were out of stock and im impatient...

Don't worry too much about it... It's a jeep, so it will hold... Be patient and approach one problem at a time, you'll learn a lot and have fun while doing it, and definitely don't listen to every rattle that your jeep has...

Enjoy it, really, and those things will go away...

You can resolve the popping out of gear issue by removing the gearshift and bending it back towards the arm rest a bit more. Since I have done that it has helped me assure that I am putting it fully into gear every time.

Take your top off, remove the doors. Lube Lockers do help.
