Default Fuel Consumption.

Ok guys, so what kind of fuel consumption are we getting? Consumer reports rates it as “dismal fuel economy” Post your findings.

I get about 16.5 mpg. Which by current SUV standards is OK.

But unfortunatly current SUV standards are dismal.

Not bad considering what it is. Significantly better than my TJ, despite being larger, heavier, and more capable on and off-road.

The onboard computer says 14.5 mpg, but I'm sure thats wrong. My speedo is off by 5 mph so I don't know if its doing better or worse than that.

Lots o' talk on this topic.

If I take it easy accelerating and shift at 2,000 rpm, I get 20 mpg -- which is better than the premium-fuel-burning Legacy GT I once had. The mpg is as "dismal" as you want it to be. To ensure absolutely dismal mpg, add big, heavy tires and rims to an automatic tranny JK. Physics is a bitch.

I'm getting about 17.5-18. I drive about 2 1/2 miles to work on city streets. I do a little bit of highway driving but not enough to say so.

Two tanks of gas so far and both have been 18 - 18.5 according to the dash computer. Very pleased with this number.
