Fuel Pump/TIPM Wiring Bypass
A few weeks ago the 2007 JK left me with a 90 mile tow bill....cranks all day/night long but no start. Towed into dealer and they relaced the fuel pump. Well that didn't fix it so they took the TIPM out and cleaned it. The TIPM is on backorder with about a 2 month wait I understand. Perhaps they are addressing this issue. Anyhow it was starting and was running fine for a time but now we are back to crank but no start. I am going the make a basic wiring harness with a fuse, switch and relay and splice into the factory fuel pump wiring. When it acts up I will hit the switch, providing power to the fuel pump and be on my way. Anyone else doing this? Having the same problem with the TIPM and did that but it didn't work?
Do yourself a favor and add a safety switch to the harness you make. use oil pressure to activate the switch, that way in case of an accident the fuel pump will shut down when the engine quits
