The seal on the gas cap could be bad.

I'll bet you have more than one code.

All the computer knows is that there is a "large" leak in the Evap system. If it happens to detect it fairly soon after a fill-up, it calls it "gascap" because it may be the most logical cause, since the gas cap has been off recently.

To save yourself a lot of time and pain of going to Dealers or Mechanics, get yourself an On Board Diagnostic tool. If you are popping hot for a fault that you know damn well that you fixed, you can delete the code from you vic's computer and remove the check engine light. Ensure that the On Board Diagnostic works for your model. I have a P/N 92063.9001 that works on my '07 JK.

Or a tuner. My Superchips will diagnose and clear codes as well

Could be a bad hose on evap can. I had that in my KJ and ended up fabricating a hose for it. I was not going to spend $90 for a 8" hose. No freaking way.
