Angry Gas tank problem

Parked my JK facing down a hill with a quarter tank of gas and the next day it would not start and the fuel gauge indicates I was out of fuel. Put in 5 gallons of gas, it starts right up. Drive it to a flat area and now the fuel gauge reads a half a tank of gas! Anyone else experience this problem?

Musta been a pretty steep hill.

Try parking nose up next time, i'm not positive on the Jeep but usually the fuel pickup is at the rear of the tank, so if the hill is steep enough it would be "out of gas".

strangely i have never had it stall going down steep embankments because of this
Ive had mine stall while sitting on a steep downhill trail. Couldnt restart until on flat level ground. Had no power steering or brakes on a decently tough trail. That sucked

How low was your fuel gauge when level?

When I got back down to level and let it sit turned off for about 20 min (lunch). Started up after a little effort and had a half a tank exactly.
