I have found the six speed to be a little hard to get used to. With your issue what I do is make the shift quicker and it seems to smooth it out.

I was just reading the owners manual regarding the six speed manual transmission as I was thinking of changing the fluid. The manual states that it needs only to be checked periodically to top off if needed and that the fluid is intended to be good for the life of the vehicle. That doesn't seem right to me though. Thoughts?

Is there actually a way to drain the tranny? I thought there was only a service port to top it up. I've never really looked though.

I'm interested in the idea of changing the fluid as my 2008 JKU has a somewhat rough tranny.
