Default hard top levers

just curious if anyone corrected a leak by tightening down the torx bolts inside the hard top levers? i have been chasing down a pesky one at the B-pillar corner on top of the passenger door. it has been to the dealer for the door sill TSB leaking and all is good there. but this one is ugly. a lot going on in that corner. i figured by snugging them up it did put some more pressure on that top corner of the door/top. did about 1/2 to 3/4 turns on each torx bolt. everything else was checked. door fit etc.. and nothing is out of place. figued it could not hurt?

I can't attest to tightening up the bolts on the levers, but I can tell you the opening/closing order listed in the manual is crucial. A buddy of mine runs the parts dept at a local Jeep dealer and he said after people were coming in with leaking freedom tops left and right, the service dept quickly found that the simple fix is following the 1-2-3 order of which ones to release/close first. I personally found this out when I bought my JK on a Wednesday, took the two front freedom panels off on Thursday, and had water gushing in when it rained on Friday. lol I took the panels off, put them back on making sure to follow the step-by-step instructions, and the leaking immediately stopped. Boom.

followed instructions to a T. the visor instructions and manual. looks like we got some storms comming on shortly, so i should be able to see if the "tweak" worked. again, last time in it was checked over and nothing found out of place. this is just a small stream on the B- PILLAR p. door. seems like after a long rain when you go to move it or in really heavy rain. weird one. other than that, DRY EVERYWHERE.

INDEED! the latest TSB stuffers etc... took care of the issue over the door sill. but this one got me stumped. time to get the welder out and just weld the door shut. problem fixed.

Yep, I had a leak in the center of the Freedom Tops the other day. Every time I hit the brakes water would poor in on the center of the dash and radio. After checking the latch I noticed it was very loose. After tightening the torx (about 1-1/2 turns), and checking the others, the leak stopped.

I bought some foam weather strip and put it on the front corners. It was a soft foam and it seals good now.
