On another note, he had it on a 2008 (I think) and mine is a 2011. The front center latch hoop on his jeep was in a different place than my jeep. I seems like the early JKU's had this latch hoop offset to the drivers side, then it was centered for a few years, now it is off set again and the top fits great on my 2011.

Will a 2011 unlimited soft top fit a 2010 or does the latch not line up?

I have just bought a 2011 4dr with the soft top. I traded my 2007 4dr with the soft top. Put 1900 miles on it this Memorial day weekend. The hard top is a little more quieter than the soft top for obvious reasons. The '11 soft top is loud with the windows open but quiet with windows up. The '11 soft top is twice as loud as the '07 soft top. The reasons is on the '07 and every other jeep there was a grove above the doors that the top fit into. Making the top nice and tight. But on the '11 jeep I have jeep put cables thru a sleeve and there's no way to make to top tight. Maybe some fabricated homemade bows would solve this problem. The top noise starts at 60mph and above for me.
But if it's nice enough to put the windows down. Then it's nice enough to put the top down. Problem will be solved

The hard top is very close to being in a traditional sealed SUV, even at high speeds. Huge improvement over the soft top noise-wise.

The soft top needs a center latch.. I can reach up and lightly pinch the top in the center pulling it tighter and it cuts the noise in half

i have an 07 x 2 door and the soft top that came on it was REALLY noisy. i just bought a sunrider top from an 11 and it is almost as quiet as my hardtop even at highway speeds. the only real difference is some flapping on the side windows. it actually has me considering selling the hardtop to finance other mods...

Default Hard top whistles

I have an '07 JK with the hard top and although it's nice to have, I know I would rather have the soft top. Simply because pulling the hard top off and storing it is a royal pain in the butt. I don't care if it's 30 degrees outside, I want the ability to fold it down or zip out the windows as soon as the sun comes out. It's starting to get hot out here in central California and let me tell ya, if you don't have those insulation panels inside your hard top, it's like sitting on the bottom rack of an oven. The heat coming off of it is rediculous. I am ready for a soft top...guess I just talked myself into selling mine.

Like mentioned before, after awhile down the road, it's not a big difference in the two tops.

The new soft top for the 2013 's is quieter than previous models. It's made of some heavy duty material that has sound proofing in it. I love my soft top there are only 3 months of the year where I can't go topless and door-less. Plus my Jeep is not my DD so I don't have to deal with any commuting miles.
