Default Hardtop care

Should I use a protectant, (amourall, back to black, etc), on the hardtop?

Thanks.

Given that the coating on my hardtop is weak enough to be scratched off with merely a fingernail, I am afraid to look at it wrong... let alone touch it with chemicals.

I have always used just plain car soap and water, the top is going to get scratched worse by the first low dangling branch you hit.

303 is safe and with all it's uv protection and how it keeps dirt from soaking into porous material, I don't see how you could use anything else. :-)

I wax mine on occasion. Hardly and scratches to speak of and has a nice shine on it.

Wax it just like the rest of the jeep. The hard top is painted and not plastic.

I was wondering the same thing, btadlock!

What products are good for the (black) hardtop? I have always used "Meguiars" products (i.e their car wash and their wheel cleaner), so I'll use the wash liquid whenever I wash my Jeep.

The "303" protectant also seems very good, and I've used it on my interior surfaces in the past. I only wonder if it run off the roof after a good rain, and leave streaks on the windows?

All best,
Joe
