Default Has my engine BEEN replaced?

After reading all these horror stories about '07 engines I am wondering why mine runs so strong at +105K miles and DOESNT BURN OIL... Could the engine have been replaced? I am the second owner, and have looked at the Jeep website but am only finding vague references to service done. Any suggestions?

I was wondering the same thing about mine. I had the oil pan gasket replaced and a transfer case seal replaced. I drive the ^#}^**>EUR\ out of mine and no problems. I do all the minor maintenance myself unless it's covered by the warranty for now. I have not had any of the issues some people have had.

fwiw... I'm the original owner of my 07 JK (build date Sept 06), and now have 70k+ miles with no oil burning, or any other engine issues. Now, like most others, I have had issues with the stearing clunk, stall bug, xfer case cable, etc... but my 3.8 has worked like a champ.

Not all the 07 3.8's were bad motors. Apparently you have a good one

I feel pretty luck so far too.. . mine is going strong and I haven't had any issues with clunky steering or anything really for that matter.

I also wonder! My 07 jk U has 157000 Km's on it. I'm not orig owner. The engine runs nice and has no sign of oil loss. It's been pushing 35's on a four inch lift for the last 5k. Just had lower intake gasket fixed after a coolant leak developed. I'm slapping on a tranny cooler this weekend just to help her out a little. Also change of oil is needed after the intake leaked. Will do that tomorrow hopefully. Jeep say only recall not done is something to do with the tow hitch.

It's a form of publication bias; forums like this attract people reporting and/or trying to solve problems. People are less inclined to report that they aren't having any problem. (Until the subject comes up.....)
