Default Having a problem with my windshield wipers...

Hey guys,

So it was raining/snowing on Friday and I went to use my windshield wipers and they made about two complete revolutions and then just stopped in the middle. At this point the Jeep is at the dealership and they have no idea what is going on. They switched out the motor and they don't think that is the problem. They tried tracking the wires and they said that power is getting to the module but power is not being transfered from the module to the wiper motor

I don't really think these guys know what they're doing since they think that the problem has to do with my windshield lights and them interfering with the motor somehow

Any suggestions for what might be going on?

Bryson

Not sure if this pertains to your issue, But I have read where if the battery and or charging system is not working correctly , especially a week battery with a bad cell makes the electrical gremnlins come out in full force, and one of those gremlins are the windshield wipers acting weird. If you do not want to waste any money, go to one of the big retail auto centers and see if they are willing to check your battery and charging system for proper operation.

The 2007's are not as senitive as the 2010's but it still could be one of your issues, worth checking out.

GOOD LUCK !!!!

To tell you the truth, I have read those same things happening as well. The only thing thats got me confused is that this is a brand new Sears Diehard Platinum Battery Just in case maybe the battery was the problem I switched it out with two friends others batteries and still nothing worked. I've changed out the fuses and still nothing.

In case it matters to anybody else, its a 2007 Wrangler Rubicon

Thanks again though for the suggestions!

Regarding the dealer:

I have learned one thing with Chrysler Dealers and their servcie depts,, They are great for basic mechanical repairs, but when it comes to electronics especially the new OBD-II CAN-BUSS System now found in the new 2010's, they are soo lost. You need to remember , Chrysler only recently started to put all of this high technology in their vehciles, They were always blamed for having boring interiors and lacking the new technlogy ,,, a lot of their techs are just learning all of this new stuff, so yeah, it is goiing to baffle many of them. One day I was in a engine bay area , and one tech was really loosing it, due to the complications these electrical boards can cause, leading you on a wild gooose chase. Not an easy job, think about it when you open up your hood and look at all that electrical crap inside it.

UUMMMM,, Next time you go to a auto center like AutoZone or similar , have them put a scan tool on ur Jeep, sometimes there are stored codes inside the OBD-II computer, and the engine light is not on, because it take 2 pases of the identical problem at identical parameters like timimng , temperature, voltages , etc. Worth a shoot, It can point you in the right direction,, by the way, def not the battery, the Sears plat batt is top shelf, better than Optima yellow and red,, def will be my stock replacement battery.

Thanks for the advice with the scan tool on the Jeep. If they can't get anywhere I'll take it to them next. They had it all day today and couldn't get anywhere with three different techies working on it. I definitely understand the troubles they are probably going through. That wiring is a nightmare.

Thanks for all the help!

Default wiper motor going out

My wiper motor works on slow and fast but when I try to use delay mode the thing just spins as if it were on slow mode. The dealer told me it was the wiper motor, so I bought one and will install it next week. Did you ever figure out what your fix was?

Thanks
