The silverstar ZXE put out a bright white light with no hint of blue at all. From my experience, I use the Ultras as a "baseline" for a "acceptable". The majority of the blue bulbs I tried do not even come close to the Ultra's light output. The ZXEs put out more light than the ultras, but it does say that they would not last as long right on the box.
As for the Xtreme power bulbs. I have yet to try those in a H4 design, but from what I have seen on the H13 capsules is that the light is a clean white color which is around 3800K (stock is around 3200-3500K). It is still "yellow" compared to blue bulbs, but the light output on low beam is amazing. Even with the horribly designed stock reflectors in the JK, the Xtreme power put out significantly more light on the low beam setting. The high beam setting is much better than stock, but the bulb is designed for low beam power. As for the ZXE vs Xtreme power - I think that the Xtreme power would provide more usable light that would show more on rainy days and adverse weather conditions. They are both the same price and the Xtreme powers should last longer than the ZXE. The ZXE has more of a "wow" factor and does light up roadside signs better. If you are looking for a simple stock looking but much brighter output with decent bulb life - Xtreme power. If you are looking for a hid white looking bulb with brighter output with short bulb life (for looks) - Silverstar ZXE. If I were to rip out my HIDs and start all over again (which is probably what I will do later), I would keep my rallylights harness, run the Hella lenses (what I have), and run ZXE lights (I like the white/blue output). Don't get me wrong, the IPF lenses are a fantastic upgrade, but you aren't really getting the most you can unless you get a wiring harness like what rallylights sells. My Hellas with the harness and basic H4 halogen bulbs put out twice as much light as my GF's jeep with IPFs and silverstars (without a harness!). I have used a harness in every vehicle I have owned. Yes... it makes THAT much of a difference. EDIT: If you have any specific questions, feel free to PM me. I have ran IPF lenses, Hella lenses, and stockers on over 6 different jeeps (3 JKs, and 3 Cherokees). |
Thanks for the thoughts man. I'll look for some of those Phillips if I need bulbs before I get a Jeep.

Philips makes the Xtreme power in:
9003/H4, 9006, 9007, 9008/H13, H7 I say, if they fit your current vehicle, then just try them out and see for yourself. |
It's the H4/9003. Thanks again.

Im running PIAA extreme white in mine. Have been pretty happy with them. To me anything is better then the stock lights that are in the JK.
|
I ran the PIAA Extreme White before, and they are a decent bulb... but the pricing is not. The ZXE puts out more light at like 30 bucks cheaper.
|
I will haver to look at those when it is time to replace my lights again.:yup:
