Default Heatee ??????

When I start my Jeep it takes 15 to 30 seconds for it to start blowing heat. Is this normal?

Thanks for your answers.

It takes me several minutes before I feel anything even close to heat. It blows cold air right from the start if that's what your referring too.

Are you serious? Does anything start blowing heat faster than these jeeps?

He's talking about the fan in general. And yes a short delay is normal.

Does that apply to certain later year JKs only?

If I crank my JK with the AC or heat on, it takes a few moments before it starts blowing out of the vents. I think it is because the thing (excuse my highly technical terminology) that directs the air between the vents (defroster, face, feet, etc.) resets every time the vehicle is turned off, because I've sat in my Jeep after switching it off and after little while you hear it moving.

You know, i don't know any specifics. What I do know is that many many other JK's do what mine does. Say the knob to my fan is at the half way mark. From when I start the jeep there is a delay until I can hear/feel the fan kick on. I think it varies some but somewhere in the 5-10 second realm.

Aka the blend door. Which is electronically actuated so I may have a delayed response to process the command

Yes, the blend door is controlled electronically and it does reset after you shut off your Jeep. After start up, there will be a short delay as the blend door goes from the reset position to the proper position.
