Default Heater problems

I have a 08 2 dr and only the passenger side blows hot air. The drivers side gets a little warm but not enough. Does anyone have any ideas?

Try removing the vents and checking for obstructions ( unless you've already done this). Beyond that, maybe cycle the mode selector, it could be stuck between? The JK heater is typically capable of melting your face off.

Agreed, the heater in these JKs will boil water even at a mile high

Saw another thread or two on here about same problem. Ended up having the heater core replaced under warranty. Do a search for heater core and see what you find.

The problem of heat on one side and not the other is usually a bad blend door.

I don't think it's possible for the heater core to supply heat to one side only. The hot air from the core dumps into a common plenum, and is distributed from there.

On the JK's that a new core fixed it, it was probably due to the blend door being removed and reinstalled in the process of replacing the core.

I know they are very different Jeeps, but the same thing happened to my '05 TJ. I was getting air in certain spots and not others, turned out one of the blower tubes that feeds the air to the vents had kinked or collapsed. Easy fix when I brought it to the dealer, they knew exactly what it was. Don't know If this helps but I thought I should pass it on. Good luck.

There is no obstruction in the system. It is blowing the same amount of air out of both sides but the temp is a lot different.

Alright, check while I was running around today. Put the mode in between all the proper settings for the different vent options and could not make air come out one side only. I see now from the most recent post that the air is a different temp from one side to another. Would it be possible that one of the tubes is kinked as suggested in another post, or perhaps one has come "unglued" at some juncture now causing most of the air to bleed off before reaching the proper vent?

The original poster has said he gets equal air out of both sides, but one side is hot and the other is not.

I'm betting on blend door problems.
