ID:	495792 I started my journey with a 2007 2wd Sahara that I got for 12000.Since then I have gotten a tareflex 30 front axle with the wrong gears for 250.00, and I bought another dana 30 with 410 for 300.00, swapped gears and sold the extra for 400.00 all on craigslist. Then I bought a transfercase off of craigslist for 450.00 and the guy threw in the shifter and skid plate. I bought my Method rims from a great guy named Vic in Fresno he also threw in a crossmember. I bought the tires from a guy who had a jeep that I met at home depot and he also sold me rubicon springs and shocks. so I am left needing a transfercase shifter cable, the corosponding brackets and a transmission isolator mounting bracket that is basically a transmission mount. All the jeep people I met along my journey were wonderful.

Sorry I did not see your first post, but it sounds like you are going in the right direction with everything.

Don't really know how to advise you on the swap. I would suggest joining a club in your area. Perhaps some guys in the club have experience with this.

I'm on the east coast and part of a group that gets together every so often and turns wrenches. In fact we are getting together this month to do lifts, fender mods, electrical work, etc.

Maybe you'll find a group like that.

Good luck.

Note: I believe Jaker has an awesome write up on the forum with his conversion experience.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. It's a project that probably not too many have done, hence the lack of advise? Good luck!

I guess my rig isn't pretty enough or I don't know the right people. In spite of you guys I started my journey with a 2007 2wd Sahara that I got for 12000.Since then I have gotten a tareflex 30 front axle with the wrong gears for 250.00, and I bought another dana 30 with 410 for 300.00, swapped gears and sold the extra for 400.00 all on craigslist. I was kind of disallusioined because I thought this board would help me along the way and make things easier but it has only been a source of frustration. all the jeep people I met along my journey were wonderful except the ones on here. the only person who has extended a hand and a word of advice is jaker I realize this is political suicide but I thought you guys would like a newbies view on things
Oh bullsh!t

You asked for help and "got none"?

I looked at all your threads and posts. People responded.

Hardly anybody converts 2wd to 4wd. The few that have or are interested in it responded with good advice.

You asked general questions and got good, albeit, general answers.

Ask specific questions get specific answers. Maybe.

If you post: "I'm putting in a hemi, someone tell me how..." you'll get quite a different set if responses than asking the best way to fashion new motor mounts or something specific like that.

You come off as offended that the "forum" didn't spoon-feed you. That's lame.

X2. If you read all the prior posts he wants everything given to him. I think he would have been better served posting "Who can do my 2wd to 4wd conversion quick and FREE." At least then he would have a legitimate complaint when "nobody" responded or "helped." Unreal......

Or man up and just buy a 4wd instead of complaining?
