Default HELP!! Extreme drivetrain vibration and slack

Ok, so I bought a 2010 JK 4door 4x4 last july, and 4 months later hit hard by a drunk driver going about 35 mph on the right front corner. It hit the tire also and broke some of the steering linkages and components. It got fixed...so I thought.

As I picked it up from the shop it drove great...until I got halfway home. Then it started vibrating so violently that it felt like the jeep was gonna fall apart. I took it back to the shop the next day and they felt it and checked the motor mounts...they were fine. BUT then it stopped and they couldn't figure out what was wrong. So they took it to a JEEP dealership and they ran the diagnostics and found nothing. So I took it home and drove it a few days. It doesn't do it as bad now but is still there.

List of what it is doing:

1) When I come to a stop or give it throttle from a stop it jerks, like there is slack in the driveline somewhere.
2) Twice I have been at a stop light and hit the throttle and gone nowhere. I could hear the tranny trying to find the right gear. It finally did after a few seconds and then jerked forward and took off.
3)When I'm accelerating at low RPM's it vibrates very noticeably. Also can sometimes can feel the jerk when it shifts from 1st to 2nd.

So my assumption is that it has something to do with the tranny. But my insurance wont start tearing things apart unless they can find the problem first. So I'm kind of screwed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Love my JK but can't stand that there is this major problem.

Thanks!

Did he not have insurance? It should be his insurance company bellying up to pay for this. I agree, it sounds like the tranny--I should think that inspection of lubricants there, as well as other major components, might be helpful in finding out where things are amiss. You may need to talk to a lawyer to learn the options in your state when they can't figure out what the problem is that was caused by another driver's negligence.

That sucks if a drunk driver hits you, you should have the choice of getting a whole new vehicle. A crashed vehicle will never be like it was before the wreck.
