Throw in a few jumping jacks for good measure.

This falls under the NASCAR rule - always counter-clockwise, preferably quickly.

but don't forget each time you use the jack you HAVE to replace your muffler fluid :yup:

...I kid. Can't knock ya for asking a question you didn't know the answer to.

Counter clockwise of course, lefty loosy, righty tighty. Helps for the buildup to goto the jack.:D:beer:

And remember to turn off your Hazard lights when finished so you will not run out of turn signal fluid. That stuff is tuff to find.

If it makes you feel better I just now learned how to take the jack thanks for the thread.

HA! I remember this having me stumped as well, I must have tugged on that bitch for close to ten minuets before figuing it out. Another one of those ego deflating moments.

me too, first day i got my jk, i brought it home and spent all day trying to figure out the freedom top, taking the doors off, and yes even the jack. i almost pulled of the stupid plastic piece made to screw it off by hand.

I damn near took mine back to the dealer. Was trying to install wheel locks and couldn't get the jack out. 10 minutes later, I realized that I just had to give it a turn. My ego crawled under a rock for a bit...

Hate to admit it, but I brought up this page by search function, as I also could not get the jack out!:rotflmao2:

Hate to admit it as well... But I spent about 5 mins fiddling with it before I shrugged an moved on. Glad I found this before a blowout though lol

FlameRedJK 06-21-2012 10:27 AM

Lol seriously? Maybe it's a different set up in the 2012 but kinda common sense really...its a scissor jack that is held in place by being opened slightly in a small space...just loosen it as if to lower the jack and it comes right out...
Took me all of 30 second first time I took it out, same way I've seen any scissor jack mounted in any vehicle I've owned that had one...
