HELP: JK Soft top Maintenance & Cleaning
Well after this Saturday...building WOL's Hardtop hoist under our carport and fighting with getting the EXTREMELY TIGHT Softop on my Wife's JK (Sore arms & fingers), tossing out the soft top instructions in the first 3 minutes and getting my wife to read the manual as I put the top together.....plus add a few Beer. It is finally on!
Now.....I have a few questions on this soft top....and YES I looked through endless Threads and found a few answers on the soft top. However, I have a few more.
1) What is the best method to wash the Softop?? Can you use the pressure washer wand on the top or will this tear the top???
2) How often do you polish up/protect your Soft top to ensure it is protected from the elements ???
3) How do most people store there plastic window's?? Is there a bag you can buy and roll each one up to protect them incase you are out of town and want the top down???
4) What is the best cleaner for the Plastic windows???
5) Best method to wipe the plastic windows if dusty????
My last question...
When you have the soft top down and feel kind of lazy not to pull the top up when parking it.....What do most people use to protect the interior from the bird droppings, jackass that like to spit in the Jeep or fling a cigeratte into your Vehicle while your JK is parked and top down??? Is there a cheap & easy solution for this??? As I don't really want to spend a lot of time taking the top up and down!

I use the wand, but not at full pressure.

I do mine every spring when the snow quits, about halfway through the summer, then in late fall just before the snow starts. That's how my friend did his 67 convertible and his top is still in great shape (was replaced in the late 80's) so its around 20yrs old.

Cloverpatch window roll.
4) What is the best cleaner for the Plastic windows???
Soap & water after a good rinsing. Then i use a good plastic polish, several brands out there. 303, Bestop etc.
5) Best method to wipe the plastic windows if dusty????
I have one of those mini car duster things with the waxed strings, so far so good...

Make the spouse do it.
After the bruising and bones heal from suggesting that, consider a Trail cover. Mopar/Trails end(i think)/bestop etc. many to chose from. (essentially a fitted tarp with some tie down loops)

I think I would be recovering a while in the ICU if I made that suggestion to the spouse.
Where can I find the Cloverpatch window roll? Quadratech or Northridge???
Thanks for the anwers....I will have to look for that 303 or Bestop plastic polish!

LOL! Me too!
Yeah, i think most places would carry it, pretty popular. I think there are some other ones, but that seems to be the favorite. (I dont have one, yet.)
