When you go to Prorocks (or whatever), you could always sell the Rubi axles with lockers for a good price, or reuse the lockers and gears in the Prorocks. Just something to think about.
That's the only part I'm not 100% on. That I could sell them. I know I'm going to have to re-gear with 38s. It's not a dd so I don't really care about road rpms but more for power down low and I know how I am and will want a regear. I'm kinda leaning away from selling cause I'd rather have the stock stuff stored as a replacement or if I ever do trade it in on something I'd rather keep my expensive hardware. So I'd probably never sell the stock items.

As far as the transfer case I'll probably rock this one until something breaks and since it's the same housing just different gear range when that happens ill upgrade to an atlas. I have heard for people not doing a lot of rock crawling the higher range for the rubi is almmost useless. Since I'm not on the west coast with a lot of rock crawling I don't think I will use that much. If and when I do get into it I'll probably be looking towards the atlas anyway. I kinda don't trust the stock transfer case, rubi or not. A couple of my buddies have blown theirs up. I've helped them rebuild theirs and the housing just doesn't seem very stout to me for running that kind of torque through it. That's just my opinion now.

Really if it is just a toy you want to build up you should be looking at a base model Sport. Saves you even more cash that now you are at around $10k off the Rubi? That's a lot of scratch towards a real trail rig.
It is a toy but the way I am I like to have certain comforts also. It's not going to be a crazy trailer rig. I will still be able to take it down the street just fine and be comfortable but all I'm saying is that it's not going to be a vehicle I depend on every day to get to work and back.

I have picked certain option in the sport s that I know I "need". I want power windows and locks, the connectivity group, automatic, better speaker system, hard top. I picked these for different reasons. When I finally buy it I'll make a thread about all the options and why I picked them and link it here. I'm at work right now so don't have time to go over all of them.

I'm not the type for a function no form when it comes to my vehicles. I like a good mix. I like function and form. I want them to go through anything I put in its way and be comfortable doing it.

For the costs that it will take to upgrade a sport I would suggest a rubi. My old tj died last july and with it being so close to the 2012 coming out I couldn't find a rubi within 1000 miles with the options I wanted so I settled for the sport. Now i wish I had got the base rubi that was over 1 state and just added the towing and radio upgrade after the fact

Not to be an a$$ but a 1000 miles will cover a few states out from you. I drove from NC to Chicago at 900 miles. All joking aside, why do you say you regret it, specifically?

I have decided on a sport. They found one nearby and will have it Tuesday but won't be able to pick it up until Saturday.
