Default Help with softop

This might sound like a dumb question (or not). I was wondering If it is ok to drive with the softtop on but with the windows taken out (including the back window) on the Freeway?

I've done it on the street and its seems to put alot of strees on the back flaps. I didn't wanna tear anything. Tell me what you have done...

Thanks

and if this is re-occuring thread, my apologies. I dont like the search feature too much. I can never seem to find the correct post or anyhing close to it. It always re-directs me to some irrelevant thread.

Just my luck i guess.

Smile Sure

The manual says that if you open the sunrider top you should roll up or remove the rear window if you are going to exceed 60. I think that implies that it is okay. I've done it several times, and know what you are talking about. To date (6 months) I haven't really noticed any serious indications of strain or wear on the top. Now that I've said that, it will probably tear or something the next time I am in that set-up.

Is this sunrider top the same as the regular soft top?

Just making sure.

I was even thinking about un-hookin the flaps in the back, but I think it would look too funny. haha

Cool Yep

Yeah, Sunrider is the Soft Top just folded back like a sunroof. Sorta like taking the top down half way.

Just to chime in; I do this all the time - in fact, since it's been over 100 degrees A LOT here in Central TN lately, it's my preferred method of travel. Plus, it really helps when summer showers pop up. And, I'm trying to avoid my "Jeep Tan" (updated Farmer Tan).
