Default Help with spillage...

Hope I am posting this in the right place - if not please don't yell at me!

Running around today with my mother and before climbing into the seat she set a cup of iced tea on the center of the dashboard. Then she reached for it and knocked it over and about 1 cup of tea poured straight down the defroster vent in the middle.
Any ideas on how best to clean this up?
I know that the interior is made to handle a little moisture but not that much.
Luckily I do have the top off so it is getting plenty of air flow and it is warm weather.
The Hubster is running a bit ragged with work right now so if I can get a jump on what we should do would be helpful.
TIA!

I will try running the bottom vents tomorrow and we'll see what happens.

Not sure which is worse.... my last vehicle (lemoned Nitro) I threw one of my diamond earrings into the dash vent and it was never seen again even though The Hubster took apart the whole dash looking for it.

I must say the look on my mother's face was awesome - I think for a moment she thought I was going to take her out for spilling it LOL!

Oy!!

your box assembly has a direct drain to the outside, when the a/c is running moisture will condense on the evaporater in the heater box and drips out the bottom of your Jeep. No action is required as the a/c dried air will absorb any moisture left rolling around.....

I say just let it dry out...if no harm has been caused yet, then you should be good from that standpoint.

I don't think the moisture is the problem here. I think the fact that it's sticky, sugary, iced tea that's the problem. Granted, iced tea smells good...but that's why it may attract insects, it may cause moving parts to stick, and it'll cause dirt to accumulate faster.

I would want to actually wipe everything down and clean it...unfortunately to do that would be a two-day job because you'd have to remove the dash.

LMAO!!! I will pass that on to her MK!

Yay for the drain info - I wondered if that were the case. Thanks for the confirmation TINMAN080!!

Luckily we don't drink the southern favorite of sweet tea. Just plain brewed tea - on the rocks of course.

Thank everyone for your help!!
