I wasn't able to line them up before the new one was installed because I wasn't there. It's my g/friend's father's shop...I told him to just order it and put it in. The mechanic said he installed the drag link and the wheels were close to straight prior to the alignment. If they aligned the wheels w/o changing the drag link they were going to eat up a good amount of the adjustment to one side, whereas it's pretty neutral now. I usually only pay cost on the parts, something like $66 for the drag link, but thankfully he didn't charge me for anything!

I just re-read what I wrote and I think that's an oxymoron? lol.

Congrats on the Jeep, and welcome to the forum. You can formally introduce yourself in the Registry thread if you want to.

I just re-centered my steering wheel last night, per the write up, which was awesome! I was experiencing a little shake in the steering wheel and it was off-center quite a bit after a recent trip to rausch creek. After re-centering the wheel, it seems better, but when I was down there, I noticed that I could grab the drag link and tie rod and they both have movement in them, sort of a rocking up and down at the joints.
My question is: Is this normal? How much movement should they have?

All drag links and tie rods are able to have rock up and down movement, it's when you have straight up and down or side to side movement that's bad!
