Default Hood flutter fix with Mopar OEM missing part!!!!!!!

I have a 2012 JK, Like most people I have HOOD FLUTTER! YIKES!!!!. Well I started lookin at JK hood part schematics on line and discovered that my JK Sport did not come from the factory with "Hood to Fender Bumpers". I visited my dealer and found out that Hood to fender bumpers were deleted from the hood parts list as of 2012 models and newer. I ordered them (part # JEP55276578AA), installed them in the holes provided for them that are on the underside of the hood and....................................problem solved! No after market hood latch rubbers etc. needed!

PART# JEP55276578AA

COST: $5.99 EACH (2 needed)

My 2009 has the "hood to fender" bumpers and it still bounces in the high winds.

Zip-ties are a cheap fix that stop all hood dancing.

Tried that and it didn't help mine. I did also find out that the new Mopar hood latch rubbers were shortened but they only provide them to people who can demonstrate the flutter.....................................anybod y confirm that rumor?

Guess the new bumpers on mine are holdin my hood a little higher for the rubbers to be tighter I don't know.

It worked for now, time will tell.

I went with the pricey fix, bought black metal latches from rugged ridge, pain in the ass to install due to tight clearances even with the grill off, but they are locked down tight and look great, can pass an on coming semi doing 70, in a high head/cross wind, and only the middle of the hood flex's a little, the latches dont go anywhere.

Just a hint for anyone else who attempts to install these, put tap on a box wrench, stick nuts in wrench stuck to tape and hold in position and tighten from outside. Makes it a million times easy for those of us with big hands.

thats exactly how i threaded on the nuts to the bottom halves without losing the new washers! the tape rips loose when done, i forgot all about it till you brought it up my knuckles are still regrowing skin from getting at the stock nuts to remove them in the first place almost a month ago......
