I added the drake billet latches. Overkill I am sure, but I like them and the hood is rock solid!

Hood Spring removal did not do anything for me. The daystar latches are awesome

X3 on the Daystar. Cheap in price, they look stock, easy to install and really holds the hood down.

X4, Daystar "Hood Wranglers" we're the first mod I made back in 07. Completely cured the hood flutter that I experienced at only 60 mph! They are just as strong today as the day I put them in just replacing the rubber bungee type material with poly urethane. They are cheap, buy some and save the duct tape. (-:

PS: Keeping the hood spring to lift the hood so you can get your hand under it is kind of a nice "option".

No. If it does the safety latch will hold it.

Thanks for all the responses. I love the Drake billet hood clamps, but that will have to wait a bit.

X 5 on the Daystar. Driving over several long usually windy bridges in the New Orleans area daily I tried the spring removal with no luck and zip ties were ok but not a great permanent solution.
