Default Hope for your hinges...

To all you guys out there with the bi-metal corrosive hinge disease, keep the faith! Chrysler just approved my 68k mile, 2 owner JKU for hinge replacement and new paint free of charge to me. My local stealer wasn't much help but after much homework, diligence and follow-up with case managers, she hits the paint booth for her Valentines day body shop spa treatment!

I already had it done but they didn't replace the hinges, they beadblasted them. I'm sure they will rust again. Make sure you drill your mirrors (mirror mod)

i just got mine back from the dealer last week after having this done. they didn't replace mine either, they sandblasted them. actually, it was a body shop that
does bodywork for the dealer.

the first time i picked it up the hinges had like a blueish hue to them. i think it was because they didn't apply enough paint to them. the transmission tunnel inside the jeep has the same kind of colour where it was lightly sprayed. took it back and it looked much better the second time i picked it up. i have a rescue green jeep btw.

i know they will start to rust again and i will bedline them then but i paid for an extended warranty and figured i would try and get my moneys worth before it expired, which is in a few months time now.

not to high jack and i can't speak for the op but in my case the dealership wouldn't let me. i asked if they would just get me new hinges and i would bedline them myself but they said that they had to perform warranty repairs to oem standards.
