How to disable remote start
I have a 2015 wrangler Sahara jku. It has remote start function that is enabled by pressing the lock button on the key three times. I want to disable this functionality without affecting anything else. I looked on this site and people have said there is supposed to be a hood ajar switch behind the driver side headlight but I don’t have that on my jeep. People have said that if you unplug that switch, it will disable the remote start because the switch controls the start stop circuit (you can't start the car remotely if the hood is open for safety). If I had this switch, I would just unplug the switch. However, I don't have that switch so I am posting this to the forum.
I have also verified that I can start the car with the remote even with the hood open with the prop rod.
I have a wired stubby antenna glued on the inside of the windshield behind the rear view mirror. I’m not sure if that’s part of the remote start system or not. There is what looks to be a connector to that antenna that I have not tried disconnecting for fear of messing something up that doesn't need to be. Is there a fuse I can pull to disable the system or unplug this stubby antenna thing?

Having to push the lock button three times to activate the remote start, plus the lack of a plunger switch under the hood leads me to believe that this is an aftermarket remote start system. I doubt that the antenna has anything to do with it. If it is aftermarket, there should be a device under the dash wired in series with the start button.
But is that stubby antenna thing look factory or aftermarket? I’m trying to figure out if that is the thing that controls the remote start. If so, I think all I need to do is disconnect it inside the car.
So is that stubby antenna thing on the windshield a factory part ? I’m trying to figure out if that is the thing that controls the remote start. If so, I think all I need to do is disconnect it inside the car.
