When lowering the seat back in to position lift the release handle and all will fall in to place......

It's designed to be closed... so it will be closed unless you open it.... all your doing by trying to slam it is crush the locking pins, the actual brackets and dent the floor...

You probably damaged your springs and control arms, with all of that slamming. Time for a lift kit (just to be safe, of course).


Just kidding, glad you got it worked out. I hate it when the simplest job turns into a PITA. I installed a license plate relocation kit to my spare tire the other day. Simple, right? Take the spare off, put on the braket, replace spare, wire it up, DONE! Not so much. El-Cheapo Locking Lug on the spare ending up being cross threaded. Took forever to get that stupid thing off.
