how much to powdercoat?
i bought my jk with 3k on it and some chrome side steps, i was wondering if anybody could give me a ballpark figure on how much to powercoat them black. i tried to sell or trade but no bites and i don`t really want to spent 3 to 4 hundred dollars on some black one!
I believe that the chrome will need to be removed before the powdercoat can be applied. Not much sticks to chrome, at least on a permanent basis. If that is the case, the cost would most likely be moe than a new set of steps, rails, nerf bars or whatever you want.
I was looking at getting my wheels powdercoated.
They told me that they would have to be sandblasted first and then powdercoated. For the entire service they would charge me $40.00 per wheel.
I cannot imagin the sidestep being more that a wheel.
Hope that helps.

Hi Folks,
I'm just finishing up a set of extremely HD rock sliders and contacted the local powdercoating company. If I supply them completely sand blasted and alcohol cleaned sliders they want $400.00 just to coat them! They can't have residual "body oils" off your fingers or anything and must be wrapped at the time I deliver them for coating. At this price perhaps I need to find something to protect the powdercoating...Ha Ha Ha!! Take care... Mike
