Default Well, you may need to reconsider

I believe that the chrome will need to be removed before the powdercoat can be applied. Not much sticks to chrome, at least on a permanent basis. If that is the case, the cost would most likely be moe than a new set of steps, rails, nerf bars or whatever you want.

Could you sand the chrome a bit then prime them first? Don't know if primer would stick either.

I am not sure how much powder coating would cost, but I can tell you that you can buy a brand new set of black Rugged Ridge side steps for $150 dollars from Quadratec.

I was looking at getting my wheels powdercoated.

They told me that they would have to be sandblasted first and then powdercoated. For the entire service they would charge me $40.00 per wheel.

I cannot imagin the sidestep being more that a wheel.

Hope that helps.

Default Powdercoating Rock Sliders

Hi Folks,
I'm just finishing up a set of extremely HD rock sliders and contacted the local powdercoating company. If I supply them completely sand blasted and alcohol cleaned sliders they want $400.00 just to coat them! They can't have residual "body oils" off your fingers or anything and must be wrapped at the time I deliver them for coating. At this price perhaps I need to find something to protect the powdercoating...Ha Ha Ha!! Take care... Mike

Did you ask the price difference between gloss and semi-gloss?

Tuff coat 'em.
