Default How to stop wipers from randomly turning on

I have a 2015 wrangler. This week I noticed that when the wiper switch is off, the wipers will turn on every 20 seconds or so. I’ve looked online and some people are saying to look at the relay and others to look into the switch.

Are there replaceable relays that control the wipers? Or are they soldered into the TIPM?

one post I found also suggested cleaning up the park circuit contacts in the wiper motor itself.

does anyone have any suggestions on the best place to start? Currently it’s freezing outside so the quickest diy procedure would be welcome.

I can only tell you what happened on mine. When installing a deadman pedal (fantastic for trips and wheeling) I had to disconnect the grounds from the driver side studs in the kick panel area inside. When I lifted them with key off the wipers turned on. When all was installed wipers were normal. So check those grounds for corrosion etc.

I looked there already. But I was also thinking of grounds in general. I just had my engine replaced 2 weeks ago. But this problem is only happening now. I’m going to call the mechanic to check the grounds. He installed a new battery at the same time as the engine so there should be no issue as far as battery health goes.
