Default ignition coil

started getting a miss fire on the jeep n kept hearing like a spark type of sound coming from the engine....checked it at night n a spark comes out of the ignition coil every few seconds sometimes it doesnt stop....my question is would i be safe just to replace the coil? or anything else i should check for? (engine turns off sometimes due to the spark) thanks

x2, go ahead an replace the coil. Don't know how many miles you have but just for the heck of it check out performance distributors firepower ignition kit. I did that on mine when I was replacing the plugs and it works great. I ordered it through morris 4x4 with the oem spark plugs for around 240.00 .
