Default Just found a very cool feature

I was just speaking to the dealership near me in London and he described to me that if I press the alarm lock button 4 times on the key fob there will be a beep. This will switch off the sensors allowing me to leave my dogs in the car or the roof or doors off without the alarm going off. The car is still alarmed and immobilised.

I wish I knew that earlier.

What sensors are shut off? It will only alarm if the doors are opened (unless they are off, then obviously that is disactivated) There are no proximity sensors in a stock alarm in the US-is UK different?

That's what I said to him also that there were no sensors. He explained that some Jeeps have radio sensors (not infared) that are hidden in the plastic panels. Location depends on whether its a 2 or 4 dr.

Maybe it's a UK spec...

Well I tried it and it works...try it yourself 4 presses of the key fob....you should hear a beep!

Had my alarm go off a few times and the dealer said it might be one of the internal sensors, thought he was a little off, but it does seem as if the uk spec has some radio sensors.

Must be to meet Thatcham spec, as with the hood lock.
