Default Leaky transmission

I am by no means a "hard core" offroaders and the skid under my trans is scuffed up... not dented or deep scratches...

however, i noticed my trans pan was coated in a fair amount of red fluid (trans fluid) and i touched one of the bolts and got a good size drop off it.

The question is... is there any way that i could have caused this or do you think something was not right from the factory or when they pulled my transmission and driveline down to install a new TC??

either way... it at the dealership now and I have no intentions on paying b/c its under warranty. I would like to be prepared with a combative argument just in case though

If there are no punctures anywhere, than logic would tell you they have not a leg to stand on if they attempt to deny your claim. If they have torn it down in the past, most likely that they failed to get things tight, or they pinched a seal...

I had mine in for service and the dealer called and told me that my clutch housing was busted and it was like that from the factory...ordered me up a new one...no questions asked... even though there was about 3 inches of thick mud caked all over the Jeep.
