Lights went out this morning.
I was on my way to work at 1:55 AM and adjusted the instrument panel intensity switch. My high beams went out I thought). There were street lights, so I couldn't see that the low beams were also not working. The road was wet, but it was only misting heavily, not raining. The high beams would operate if I kept the stalk pulled like I was flashing them. A couple of minutes later, the lights came back on. I had been noticing that putting the right blinker on was harder than a left turn, but the dealer said it was normal. Now it seems easier to put it to the right. I think the stalk/switch may be faulty. Any comments?
Doesn't surprise me if it is faulty! nor does it surprise me that the dealer would say it was normal...they say the same thing when you are getting water drips down your dash and doors, "It's a jeep"
Sign of the times I guess... mediocrity!

Sounds like you have a $hitty dealer.
Actually, this was the first time they denied me anything. They replaced my electronic sway bar when the light started flashing and wouldn't go off under warranty. Oddly enough, the service writer (who was only 50 or so) who did this died of a heart attack a couple of months later. (Cue Twilight Zone theme).
Actually My dealer is ok..... I'm commenting on every post about things dealers have said.
Although the amount of mechanical and or re-designed parts that have failed and continue to fail on the JK's is really weird .....Hopefully they will have the kinks worked out by 2009 model year .

Under the steering column there is cable connector. My wife's 2008 Rubicon had a similar problem. The factory failed to push in the lockpin on the plug. I would check that plug, first. If it doesn't fix it, I recommend a dealer.
