Default Limited Slip Diff Question

So I have a question about limited slip diff's. I'm not a drive-train knowledgeable person by any means, and the most advanced thing I've done so far is a 2.5" lift.

My JK has the rear limited slip rear diff, and I see that you can purchase 3rd party diffs, so is it possible to replace the front diff with one that's limited slip for extra traction?

Actually you can have a front Rubicon D44 w/ locker for about $1500, it will have 4.10 gears though (not an issue is you have 4.10 gears on your X). There are other aftermarket options available for the front, though I believe the selection is somewhat limited for the JK D30 at this time.

Yes, you can replace the front open carrier with an LSD. If you do a search, you will find others that are running a full locker in the rear and an LSD in front.
This is "old school" traction upgrade modifications and used to be a very poplular option. Now days most people will opt for a selectable locker in front. A little more expensive. But, having a full locker when needed can make an unbelievable difference when in difficult situations. Especially to those who have never experienced how a locker can improve traction.

I looked into this after going on my first few 'real' trail rides. I am probably going to break down and do the axle swap out of a Rubicon. But, if i get anxious, (I will) i will probably just do a selectable locker in the front.

Is that price new or used?
