Default Locker Won't Lock

I have an '08 Rubicon and the front locker will not lock. The rear locks perfectly every time but the front will not engage completely. When I push the button the light will flash and come on for a few seconds and then start flashing. If you jack up up one wheel and turn it by hand you can feel the teeth trying to engage but it just pops and clunks. I've bypassed the relays for testing and it does the same thing. I've even bypassed the wiring harness and actuated the locker by applying 12v/gnd at the plug and it clicks just like the rear but it won't lock. Any ideas before I start tearing into it? Weak magnet?

Dealership is the only one that has been inside there. They pulled the diff to replace a defective seal and then a defective axle shaft. They wouldn't have had to reshim anything when they pulled the diff out as a unit would they? (To replace the inner axle seals)

They may have damaged something on the way in or out or dropped your locker on the floor or stuffed the wires or anything.
It worked befor they touched it yea?
And did not after?
Take it back and give them a kick in the arse.

Right? Lol. OP... I think you should just hit up the stealership. If your still on warranty. If not.. Opening it really sounds like your only option. :/ i doubt the switch itself is bad. Especially as your hearing it doing something
