locking the trunk
I'm looking at a flexitrunk and trying to figure out how to lock the trunk so that someone cannot reach in the front door and unlock it with the switch. I have read all the threads that say the switch is disabled after 20-30 seconds, but mine is not. It will still open the truck after an hour.
Mine is an 07 and I appearantly do not have an alarm, so there is no red dash light flashing after I lock it with the remote. I have asked three dealer service departments about it and none even knew that the lock switch could be disabled after a delay - much less how to make mine do it. I really do not want to pull the wire to teh lock because I get in there alot and using the key every time would be a real pain(the power locks have spoiled me, I know) So, is there some code / programming that will disable the switch once locked with the remote - kinda like the automatic lock when driving program- or is it only 08s and or Jeeps with alarms that disable the switch? Any thoughts? |
You may be able to shop around different dealers. Basically all functions of the JK are managed by a Starscan (SP?) tool. It's Chrysler's programming machine, and apparently there are alllll kinds of things to tinker with in it.
I know a while back, a member here got his hands on one. I'm not sure if that member is still around, or if they have access to it, but perhaps somebody else has some details.... |
