Lost key shenannigans
I have a 08 JK which I've had since new - recently we lost one of the remote keys and at the time, money was really tight so we decided to just get a replacement key without the remote buttons.
We've been using it and the spare remote key without any issues, other than the remote doesnt seem to want to unlock or lock the car if the last key used was the one without a remote on it - I'm not sure this is normal behaviour?
We have also just received two new keys with remotes and had them cut - they function to open the car properly but I need to get them to work as remotes too - is there a definitive thread on how to do this somewhere people can point me to?
We have an OBD2 module and Iphones if software is required.
Cheers!

It sounds like you are trying to program the chipped keys to work with the vehicle. Is that a correct assessment? Several folks have had success programming keys at home with the Jscan app on their phones.
If you have that app it's pretty straightforward. Get in and it's under the third tab, "Adaptation". The second option down is "ignition key programming settings".
