I didn't know there were supposed to be rubber pieces. I bought mine used and there is nothing. I also some folded up paper to make it tight. Guess I will try to find some rubber hose or something more permanent.

After reading this thread I gorilla-glued my rubber to the assembly, so hopefully it won't fall off like it has with some of the unfortunate few here.

Not for me, I went to the dealer the other day, and I was told they only sell the entire latch and it was $50 some bucks.

How about posting some pics of what you did, what you used to do it and where you got the materials.

According to mopar.com the rubber piece doesn't come separately. The whole thing is called "LATCH AND BASE, Targa Panel Header", part# 68004562AA, price $53.45.

Default Missing Rubber

Mine sold me a rubber stopper that they said was a replacement part. Round part for a square hole. Used a razor blade and made it square. Otherwise $58.00 for a latch. Very bad design.

One of mine has been missing for awhile. Might be still in the Jeep somewhere /shrug.

I had split two pieces of rubber fuel line right after I got the Jeep, put them on the header piece the roof panel clamps on to. Seems to keep if pretty tight still even missing the rubber piece on the panel.

Stays on at highway speeds (or even somewhat above once in a while) still, and I never screw in those PITA rear pieces either.

This thread is referencing the freedom panel clamp that compresses against the footman loop by the windshield. That's my impression at least. What you linked seems to be a different part altogether.
