Lowering The JK Windshield: The Comprehensive Guide
We spent about half a day taking the windshield down (and off) a 2016 Willy's Wrangler. Here's what the process looks like, what the Jeep's like to drive naked, how to put it all back together, and a quick leak test after the re-assembly!

Its a lot of work to take it down/Off. I'v got too many aftermarket parts to fold it down, but I could just take it off like you guys did. Nice video I'm sure you have inspired someone to flip it down.

That guy has no clue. The jeep looks pretty cool without the windshield though.

Too much work to wind up with bugs in your teeth. I'm fine with doors and top off. So people just have to push the limits

This is mine a few days after purchase in 2007. It was the first and last time the windshield went down. We've done plenty of off-roading and plenty of mods added since (both the kids and Jeep have grown), but never the need to have the windshield down again. Mine didn't re-bolt back at the same angle, so band of white primer shows on inside --- lower your windshield, but honestly, its not worth the hastle.

He may not have a clue, but I admire his can-do attitude!!
Me, I would never make an instructional video about something I've never done before myself. |
