Trust me though when i say this. 40 mph was about as fast as you would want to go and stay within the comfort zone especially with no roll bar, 4 wheel drum brakes, and a gas tank under your seat
)
I remember being out on the 4 lane being passed by about any and everything with it completely winded out a many of times. Cool thing wad the majority of those passing would alway slow down and take a look.
That little flat 4 using up all 54 horsepower singing away was magic to the ears though.
I really miss that old gal!

Thanks! I do miss it!
My dad was the second original owner other than the US Army.
Supposedly the previous owner was a retired WW2 vet and bought it when returning home from the war (they had first option before they were sold to the public) and used it for many years on a farm before ny dad bought it in early 1970. In hindsight I shouldn't have ever let it go but it was getting to the point to where a complete restoration was needed and I didn't have the time to source all of the parts and do the work.
So rather than let it sit I sold it to an older gentleman about 2 years ago who was going to do just that and turn it back into a WW2 GI so I know it got a good home!
