Mopar Kayak Carrier??
1 Attachment(s)
I really really want to carry my Kayaks on my jeep, but don't want to put on the expediation/gobi style cage around the jeep.
Then I saw this on the jeep website................... Attachment 102677 So where can I buy one? |
Good Luck with that.
When I got my '07 I went to the dealer to find out how I could carry my kayaks. Even though all of adds had things on the roof, they had nothing. I ended up with a Congo Cage from KargoMasters, works with hard top, soft top, or no top. |

Yes, but would I trust the Thule racks with 2 14 foot kayaks in on the highway?

Yakima makes a set of pads that work great on my jeep. I think i gave 40$ for the kit. It came with straps and everything. Just thought I would throw that out there. I looked for a long time at how I could carry my conoe. With the short time I would be carring the canoe every year it didnt seem worth it for the money to get a rack.

Besides the obvious reason of why not to put the rack on the freedom panels (so you can remove the panels), is there another reason?
I am about to attach my rack for the first time on my JK and I was curious if anyone has had any damage done to their roof from the rack. I ended up with a lot of scratches and gauges from the gutter mounted rack on my old TJ. Thanks |
You can get a combo from windshield frame type rack + hitch type T bar

There's a member on this forum that posted pics of his kayak solution. He just rests the kayak on the hard top on a few temorarily placed swimming 'noodles' and straps it down through the windows.
