Multiple DTC's coming up... Ready to start pulling out hair!
I have a 2009 JK and my ESP/BAS and Trac-Control dash lights illuminate.
I had 4 codes come up when I scoped it: C1240 - ABS C1219 - Steering Angle Sensor C123F - Steering Angle Sensor C123C - Dynamics Sensor When I clear the codes they come back just as the tires roll. I'm not getting a mixed hodge-podge of different codes every time; they are the same four. The speed sensors all look good (does not mean they aren't broken). Recent Replacement / Maintenance Work Done: What would be the best course of action at this point? Speed Sensors? |
Is your ABS light on at all? Or just the CEL
If you can find a buddy with a reader that can read ABS codes that would tell you if and which one of your speed sensors is out. The CEL system doesn't tell you which one, just says there is something wrong. The majority of readers and flashpaqs, tablets, etc... cannot read ABS codes so it has to be one of the fancier ones. Unless the speed sensor wire is physically cut, you cannot tell if it is broken by looking at it. |

Innova has a line of code readers that can do abs codes. Maybe around $150. I have one and it works well.

I will look into that. My calibrator does the bare minimum... and I spent like $200 on it; should have shopped it harder.

I have a Harbor Freight reader that also reads ABS and TCS codes, on sale with a 20% off coupon found almost anywhere it was about 100 bucks. So far its worked well for me.
