Just wanted to share that the truck goes in for "surgery" on Monday. They are doing the replacement as a 'good will' fix, because they claim the oil consumption issue and oil pump codes aren't covered by the traditional powertrain warranty!! I'm like whatever, call it what you want, as long as you're fixing it and paying for it!!
Stay tuned.
Stay tuned.

The truck is at the dealer as of today. I have marked the block so I will know if they don't replace it with another. I have a loaner from them and will be curious to see how long this takes them. I am guessing until after Xmas..

I think a lot of 3.8 failures are due to oil consumption. Many people don't check their oil levels and then one day..bam! Ran dry. Not saying burning oil should be considered normal but it is what it is.

I kept an eye the oil level of my 3.8 of my 2007and got 250k highway miles out of it. It also had a low oil light though. I haven't seen one come on in my '12.
