Default My first LSD trip

This is the first LSD I've had. How do I know its working? Are there any tips for getting it to work better?

haha!! i know about that. any s10 while in 2wd and has the 4.3 will smoke the tires regardless. i've dressed my 4.3 vortec up a bit and that sucker will make the tires scream! even with 31" BFG's.

Default LSD literally sucks

There is no Limited Slip Differential in the new Wranglers (qualifications: I have the Rubicon, maybe it's different on the X and Sahara) but the ESC system sucks - literally.
It first attempts to use the ABS system to brake-lock the spinning wheel (therefore transferring torque back to the other wheel with presumably more grip). If this does not reduce wheelspin, then the computer starts to kill the electronic throttle...sucking any power you had going right out of your Jeep.
I personally HATE this 'feature' and think it is the worst single thing about the new Wranglers. The ABS for wheelspin is fine, but don't kill the throttle, that's just retarded (literally).
Supposedly, you can retrain your ESC computer by letting it slip and slide for 45 minutes continuously...Then the computer will readjust it's settings. I guess I'll need to jack it up and test that theory in the Spring.

Sahara with Limited Slip and Brake Lock? I'm not even considering a rear locker for it. It's a great combination! You're supposed to let the wheels spin and let the computer figure it out. Don't be old school and try to add the brakes manually. If you have a Rubi then turn on your rear locker instead.

Yeah what troyboy said. It is an option. For obvious reasons, it's not offered in the rubicon package.

Get to know your JK. The ESP can be turned off/ half off/ on and once you get used to it, you can have some fun with it on the dirt, or sand.
