Need help with a code. P0445

Can anyone help me out with this code. Came on this morning started it up to get some heat before leaving for work, when I came outside I saw the word gas cap displayed where my mileage is normally. In the past I have seen this before but it was actually that my gas cap was loose (my 3yr old helped me pump gas) so I cleared it and it went away. This time I checked the obvious cleared the code and it came back like 90 seconds later. I've been running around all day so it's been more then three drive cycles.

Just shy of 100k on the clock of this 08 Jk-u so dealer is not an option. Saw somewhere on here where the code says evap purge valve short or something to that effect.anyone have any advice or ideas as to what is most probable. With the holidays around the corner I can't afford to just swap parts till I get it right so I'd appreciate a lil direction.

Thanks in advance. .

I didd a quick google search and found that it usually means you need to tighten your gas cap. Also saw that a pressure difference in the tank can cause it.

Or it can be an onset to an evap leak/ broke evap can like what mine is going through. If the message spears again with a check engine light its more than likely an evap problem.

Yeah for now I'm watching it. The strange things that the odometer said gas cap but no check engine light. When I put the code reader on it I shouldn't have even seen a code since no check engine light. But it was there clear as day. I cleared it the gas cap message went away then came back after 98seconds of idling. I did check the gas cap which was replaced last winter when I first saw this warning (which turned out to be a false alarm parked on a pile of snow which kinked an evap line while I was warming it up that morning. After I left the stealer to order a new one the light was gone. Anyway I'll keep an eye on it so far no change hopefully it's just due to the sudden temp drop here first time below the freezing point for the year which always makes me jeep go a little nutty for a few days.

Thanks
