Default Need help finding the size of a bolt.

I am replacing the rear seat belt in my 08 Unlimited. When I took the original seat belt out, I stripped the torx head on the bolt that attaches the retractor to the roll bar. (It was loaded with loctite) I spoke to the dealer, but they only had the part nuumber, and not the size. I would like to replace it with a typical hex head, instead of a torx.

Anyone know the specs. of that bolt?

Thanks.

I would recommed using a dealer supplied OEM bolt. If I'm not mistaken, they aren't regular bolts, case hardened I believe. They are stronger than regular bolts to withstand the forces of an impact

Just my 2 cents

Have to agree here. They may be a standard grade 8 bolt or they may be special hardness.

Be assured they are metric threads no matter what.

Do NOT substitute anything other than an ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT bolt in ANY type of personal safety installation on your vehicle. Once you sell or trade the vehicle the attorneys will persue you to the ends of the earth if someone is hurt or killed by a failure due to your improperly installing an item like a seat belt......
