Looking to put this Rugged Ridge Modular XHD Front Bumper on my stock Sahara 4dr.
http://www.quadratec.com/showcases/r..._bumper/jk.php
I would get the Non-Winch mount, Black Center hoop, with End Caps.
What do you think of the build quality of these bumpers?
Do you think the weight will be a problem with the stock suspension?
Does putting this kind of mod void warranty?
I appreciate any info!
Thanks

I recently was in a accident in which the OEM bumper was damaged. I replaced the stock bumper with the Rugged Ridge unit. My brother works at the body shop which did the work on my Jeep and he had commented on how well made this bumper is. I have the center, end caps and center hoop configuration that you are looking at. The body shop was Concerned about the extra weight effecting the suspension, but it did not change the ride height. So far, I really like it. My brother also commented that this bumper is so tough that if my Jeep takes another front end hit, the other car is going to suffer a lot more than me.
I have the RR rear with tire carrier and it is solid. I thought about the front RR bumper but went with something else. The only thing I suggest is get the one with winch insert. Trust me - later you will want a winch and will already have a bumper instead of having to spend more cash for another bumper just so you can mount a winch.

In today times any plastic, bumper will shatter when hit.

Build Quality - Excellent. Thing is well built and Rugged (no pun intended). The Stinger I have is equally well built and sturdy
Weight - It IS a heavy bumper - by quite a bit if you consider the stock plastic and metal. Mine went on a 4" RC lift and caused the front to sag a little. So, while the sag amount might be minimal, it probably will sag a little. Shouldn't be a problem though - just have a little more rake than normal.
Warranty - No. Changing out the bumper won't affect any warranty.
The center hoop is extremely cheap and thin-walled, the bumper is quite heavy duty and it will sag your suspension some. The only reason I bought it is because it holds my factory fog lights and was totally covered by the insurance. As far as your warranty- they can't void your exhaust, motor, axles, etc because you put on a bumper. It doesn't effect those parts. They may be sketchy about coils and sway bar links if you tried to get those replaced but you shouldn't need to replace those. You may want a 1" spacer up front to compensate for the weight of this bumper.
I tried to order mine w/o the winch mount and it showed up with the mount. A week later I got a killer deal on an xrc-10 winch.

From everything that I could find on the matter, the center hoop of the XHD is made from .120 wall thickness steel tubing. It is my understanding that this is the same thickness as used on the Hanson bumpers and their brush guards and many other notable bumpers out there.

I got both the front and rear... they are heavy duty... bought the one with the winch option... was also wondering what effect it would have on my warranty. The dealership I've been going is not exactly easy to work with.
I had it on my 09 and loved it. Seemed solid to me, with the exception of the hoop, as it is thinner and bolted on the top of the bumper. I had a Warn winch on mine and the bumper never had any issues as regards quality. I would say go for it if you really like it.
