Default New JKU Windshield Leak?

Hi all, I finally got my new JKU. Only 5 weeks from order to delivery! I ordered the deep cherry red with dual top. Love it lots so far. Just noticed something though. On my way home from the dealership I noticed what sounded like air coming into the jeep where the windshield meets the hardtop panels right in the center. At least that is where it sounds like it is coming from. It only happened when I got up to around 30 mph. I assumed that it was just one of the freedom panels that was not seated properly. This weekend I took the hard top off so I could use the soft top. I examined the seal around the windshield and did not notce any crimping or damage in the windshield seal. I put the soft top up and when I get up to around 30 mph I still hear what sounds like an air leak where the top meets the windshield. When I was shoping for my JKU I test drove several of them, both hard and soft top, and I do not remember hearing that sound in any of them. Has anyone else had this issue? Is this something that I should take it to the dealership for. My concern is that it could result in water leakage when it rains. Thanks for any help with this.

You do tend to hear wind noise with both the hard and soft tops. That might be more normal. You shouldn't get a water leak. I would hose it down real good in order to see if water is coming through. You have a long time left on your warranty. I wouldn't just take it in and let them mess with it if you don't have a leak because when you get it back it just might start to leak. If all it does is sound like wind noise, leave it alone.

Thanks for the advise. That is what I will do. As I said I did not notice the sound when I was test driving others.

Default freedom top

If its the freedom top your talking about, the two hand screw knobs on the sound bar - If they are not torched down the tightest you can turn them, it leaks in the center up by the windshiled. I took my tops off one day, put them back on at the end of the day not know that the twist knobs need to be super tight

Thanks, I will make sure they are tight when I put the hard top back on in mid May before the Florida rainy season.

Default Another Leak!

I've had my 2010 JKU about 4 months now. Recently noticed a very slight drip from the driver side panel tie down screw in the sound bar. It seems to drip several times and then stops; also noticed a little dampness in the rear floor mat, but nothing much. I took off the tops and did not find any standing water in the roof channel or in the sound bar. Is it even worth bothering with the dealership? My vericle is still under warranty. Does anyone have a DIY fix for this?

Thank you.

I bought my 2010 JK brand new, in 2011 one year to date, I get (2) leaks driver n passenger side, I brought it back to the dealer and yes they have a water doctor and both leaks were fixed. If you have a problem or something does not sound right your crazy not to bring it to the dealer, and don't let them tell you it's a jeep thing just tell them to fix it. And there should not be any air leaking in wether you have the soft or hard top on bring it in and have it fixed.

That is kind of what I thought. I try to feel around where the sound is coming through when I am driving but I can't feel any breezes, but the sound is still there. It rained moderately this weekend when I was out driving around and I did not have any leaks that I could see. I have not had time to try the garden hose on it yet. I may do do after work tomorrow,
